05 August 2023: Treatment #2

Hi all,
Today was treatment #2. Charles had his blood drawn at 8:30am and then we went to breakfast at Caroline's Seaside Cafe. There were lots of surfers in the water today. His blood counts looked good. His infusion was scheduled for 10:30am so we headed back to UCSD around 10. We didn't get called back to the infusion room until 10:50 or so, but we got a coveted window seat again, so that is a plus. We came prepared today with snacks and drinks. Mark made Charles a playlist on Spotify and let him borrow his over the ear headphones. The pre-medications take about 45min and then 3hrs for the first infusion. Then the nurse pushes the red juice over 15min, 10 mins for the next infusion and the last one takes an hour. So 6hrs total for infusions today. Hopefully, this treatment is as smooth as the first with respect to side effects.
